How to change dock icons (mac)

Edit: I noticed some ppl saying they didnt like me talking through word.. so I guess I apologize to those ppl , but at the time, I didnt know that the program i use could record me talking as well so its too late to change it...

@wobblytooth hmm.... are you copying and pasting by using the "edit-paste' method? You can't right click to copy and paste... if thats not the problem then maybe the app can't be changed?

okay... so it works for me, but everytime i change my icon i usually get the preview pic for a png, jpg or gif rather than the actual icon... what do I do??
