Adorable Victorian cottage for sale in the Asbury Grove community in South Hamilton, MA . Asbury Grove is the oldest surviving Methodist Campground in this area, established in 1859 and celebrating its 150th birthday this year! It is a lovely community set in a pine Grove of about 80 acres.

This cottage is unique in several ways. It is mostly unpainted inside. The original walls have been treated with linseed oil, both for protection and to bring out the beauty of the natural wood. The floors have never been covered by linoleum and show off the original wide boards.

Downstairs there is a large central room with plenty of space for relaxing and a dining area. The kitchen is small but has lots of storage cabinets. The kitchen sink is antique, as are the bathroom fixtures including a wonderful claw-foot tub. There is great handmade sliding door between the kitchen and bathroom.

Upstairs there are two cozy rooms separated by an original wood divider wall. It is unusual that this wall has survived so many years; these dividers were removed from so many cottages to make one larger room upstairs. The windows are large enough to handle an air conditioner, but the high peaked roof is designed to draw the heat up and away from the sleeping areas. There is also a storage cabinet for linens, etc. over the stairs.

Land is not included in this sale. Therefore, interested parties must speak with the Asbury Camp Meeting Corporation prior to purchase for approval of a lease. There are some restrictions on ownership including the requirement of a letter from the pastor of your current church in order to protect the Christian heritage of the campground.
