  • This is crazy. I had no idea such high caliber races went out so slow! that means they covered the last 700 meters at under 55s/lap pace. Dirty.

Now we are talking american athletes? Because Cruz and Salazar or Rono or Lagat weren't either. You're talking nonsense and running in circles. Kirani James is defending NCAA champ and strong favourite to win Olympics. Just a couple of years ago we had Xavier carter, walter dix, tyson gay, wallace spearmon. Your argument = dead. HOWEVER, just so you don't think I am a troll, any fan of track is okay with me after all there aren't many of us. So I'll leave it at that.

  • @jonesy77777 you mean 3.53, not 1.53. Winning Wanamaker is impressive but it's not on a par with European outdoor or Olympics.

In any case, you're a damn troll - search my posts for flames, see who started talking shit. So grow older than 15 you punk.

btw I said world ELITE, not world class. You can be eliminated in the 1st heat with 3.39 and be world class. The world elite is the short list of potential winners. American men aren't on it, since Webb burned out.

  • @kozmon0t And there we have it folks, true colours come out. You are a tool and know jack squat about track and field. Centrowitz just defeated the whole field in 1:53 INDOORS at the millrose games without even trying at all. Are you suggesting that being top 3 in the world is not world class, like Jenny Simpson, Centro, Richard Thompson, Walter Dix, You are a moron who is one of those "it was better in my days" kindof of douchebags. Kirani James is #1, NCAA defending champ loser!

  • @jonesy77777 if you're gonna quote me, at least do it right, as the text on this very page says, I wrote "huge gap."

Sure you can win a bronze in a "tactical" wc with a 3.36. But that doesn't compare to winning races or running fast times.

Centrowitz's 1500 PR is 3.34, and his mile PR is 3.59. World elite miler? Fuck off.

  • @kozmon0t

That isn't what you said. YOu said there was a big difference between NCAA and world elite, and I am refuting that. The NCAA champion is world elite and he was Junior eligibility so you are wrong, but I do agree he isn't on the level of a Cruz yet, but that wasn't your argument. Bronze at world championships is UNQUESTIONABLY world elite... period

  • @jonesy77777 Cruz won Olympic gold, and Salazar won marathons and ran world bests.

3rd place in a slow wc final is not on that level. Gold in London would be.

    U of O hasn't produced a world-elite runner since the 80's, except Maria Mutola.

  • @kozmon0t

That would be totally true if Centrowitz hadn't just won a BRONZE at teh WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS?????

  • @TVTMVideos They may have swept this race, but they're no Alberto Salazar or Joaquim Cruz. There's a huge gap now between ncaa and world elite.

  • @ehowe09 why dirty?

  • @sub222marathon somewhere Pre is frowning
