He was hired by proponents to study the proposal and speak on it, and today Dr. William Thompson gave his take on the initiative that seeks to legalized controlled casino gambling on Guam. He's the same man hired by opponents 4 years ago to study a similar proposal-- but this time around he sees some potential for the island and agrees it would be good for Guam.

The Catholic Church, a staunch opponent of the initiative continues to argue the initiative will be bad for Guam. Despite the changes which have been made to the initiative, they say gambling, be it for locals or for visitors-- is not good for Guam.
