The NATO 7.62mm version is labelled MG-3. MG-42 refers to the 7.92mm (8mm mauser) version.

@smokinthepot It's cheaper to run, which is also NATO cares about, ammo consumption. Some times you've just gotta let the lead rip! I agree though, they should have kept it in 8mm.

I am also a Turk and when i am on vacation there, i shoot with shotgun...but that's never the same
kick one could get shooting a MG 42 , i guess... Jeeesus !!

Oh, i was only angry about the situation in Turkey...i mean the opposition ( political party ) the CHP.
They really suck !!
But one day they will be burried in history...that's for sure, believe me.
