This is a newer technology that can be difficult to understand. In this video I demonstrate the boot time for a UEFI enabled motherboard in conjuntion with a SSD and Windows 7 operating system.

The components used were:
Asus Sabertooth 990FX Motherboard
AMD 1090T Processor (Stock)
12 GB DDR Memory
1 60 GB SSD (Sata 3)
1 750 GB (Sata 3)

Hope this helps.

  • but I've got an old 6 year old computer with a new 80gb intel x-25m and my bios boots faster than this uefi, sure u got uefi settings right or is it just as fast booting as bios?

  • @CrazySourcePlayer

Hmm, well this seems pretty fast to me. I'm pretty sure I have the settings right. It would be interesting if you could post a video of your computer booting.

  • wich gpu do you have?

  • @digitalyze This is a 1 GB HIS Radeon 6870 ICEQ X.

  • @maperreratarheel I highly doubt you've ever used Internet Explorer 9 if you're saying that. Yes Internet Explorer 8 and earlier aren't that great. But you should understand that IE9 has been proven to be faster and more secure than Google Chrome. Especially in the field of HTML5 performance. Anyways, IE9 was amazing and I switched back from Google Chrome after years of ditching IE8.

  • Internet Explorer BLOWS

Your backup drive is called a HDD (Hard Disk Drive)

Set up some SSDs' in RAID 0 with a RAID card, do not use onboard RAID.

In the description your RAM is most likely DDR3 memory

good video, try over clocking your CPU.. it's literally made for over clocking. Don't go to high on stock air cooling

  • Hi there i have a Question

I have the same mainboard but after i started my pc i have to wait about a minute before i even can enter the UEFI. Is there a possibility to speed that up? I am buying a ssd anyway (about next month). And when i activate "no fullscreen boot" it takes even longer and i just have a half second time to press delete. thx

  • @TheXshot Hmmm, not sure how to do that :(

  • @hansvansjon Disable the tests in the bios...

  • I still think UEFI and BIOS are too slow when booting. Especially when using a riad configuration or something like that. I used to work on HP DL380's, they have a BIOS boot from about 1 to 2 minutes because of all the configurations :p
