@SuBN01z3RaT i bet man we burnt up the stock 240 wheels and stock tires into 4th gear and started whippin donuts on the rims haha

@bigdaddylovestori sounds like a beast of a motor my brother had an rb25 in a 240sx it was a stock motor with a front facing knock off greddy intake manifold car had a set of k sports and stock steelies lol it was a fun car

@SuBN01z3RaT boost leak is hell bro, our lil project we workin in right now were using 2 bovs we did a rb26dett swap on a datsun 260z just got it running last night, got a lil tweaks to mess with but were runnign two separate charge pipes to the IC, then it goes into a single to the tb but its semi built bottom end just pistons and rods custom fab IM and big tb with fully built head and some big crower cams, we shouyld be makin good power, though

@bigdaddylovestori boost leak is no fun had a hks bov go out on my friends nissan i think 2 or 3 pounds it would open and it would be this horrible whistle the whole time your taking off luckly for him he had a warrenty on it and i never seen 2 run but on a supra pic ive seen but i can imagine with the psi diesels make it would be nice too have 2

@SuBN01z3RaT i know that much but when you have a turbo that is built of good reputable quality, compressor surge will not harm it. it all depends on the engine that the turbo is being spooled by and how well the turbo is built, but yea if you get a bov then be sure you might want to get one with a heavy spring so it doesnt leak boost and also look into running two of them
-
@bigdaddylovestori blow of valve is not pointless if your using a large turbo if your spooling your turbo up the blow of valve will help its designed to stop compressor surge as you said a big turbo hates to go from 200k rpms to 0rpm just as much as a little turbo they all will get damaged from sudden stops blow of valves aren't so much for performance as they are to save your turbo
-
if the turbo locked up it wouldn't build boost....an it would smoke alot cause no boost it'd be all fuel
-
@MrBowtie95 dude all a wastgate is is a spring that opens up letting more exhaust pressure in once the exhaust is makin the turbo hit the peak boost that wastegate will provide. it will not go anymore. use an external wastegate thats adjustable with higher rated springs.
-
@bigdaddylovestori Turbodiesels are wastegated for a reason, get a larger diameter wastegate
-
@everynameistaken567 get a blow off valve and then the surge is gone. but if your using a large turbo a blow off valve is pointless because of how long it takes diesels to build boost
you have to let off the throttle slowly when you're getting on it so you dont surge the turbo...its annoying but surging it is really bad for it

@everynameistaken567 - there was no surge and it never barked either.
