He didn't walk away from the mob for any of them. Liz, Robin, and Carly are pretty much all in the same boat there.
Jason feels all the same for all of them. But it's already too late for him to walk away from the mob life.
Carly understands the mob world and is all too willing to take the chances, Robin is no longer part of that world, but Liz can't take the heat, she doesn't want the danger, so the only safe way is to walk away. The only best choice is for Jason to walk away.

@coleypinkful He tried to yes, because he loved Robin, because he was afraid that Michael would be left without a father. But he was suckered back into that world again, if I remember correctly, it was Robin who convinced Jason to go back to keep the peace because the violence was escalating. Robin may understood the lifestyle of the mob, but she was also naive about it too. AndJason won't walk away from that world now for anyone because he has responsibilities he can't turn away from.

@BetaArtemis Jason did leave mob once for ROBIN, back in 98. When they broke up in 99 and Sonny came back Jason was sucked back into it. But he did leave for Robin and michael or tried to. Robin knows what being in that world can do, she grew up in that lifestyle with her step father duke, so she understood it all. She didn't want the same thing happening to jason that happend to Duke..

Too bad Jason doesn't have the same feeling for Liz that he has for Robin and Carly. He'd do anything for them what about his own child and Elizabeth. I just don't get it
