NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) have joined to share resources and expertise on three future science missions to Mars. In three separate robotic missions (the first in 2016), both agencies will study the possibility of past life on the Red Planet, as well as test communications relays and other geochemical and biological mysteries. The third mission, in the 2020's, will return to Earth a sample taken from the Martian surface.

  • science should fall before war because the faster we can get farther into space the faster we can find other habitable worlds and colinize, or even find intelligent life. push for no war and more science like we should have been doing since world war 2, in my opinion anyway

  • Good to see some much needed collaboration!

  • why doesnt nasa esa russians japons and all of these great countrys unite to do a moonbase on the moon

  • after one or two manned surface missions, they will "find" life under the surface....

  • @IMattchewB

Are you sorry i do ? lol. No i think it will be much sooner..

  • @PICLex Well, I don't really think it's going to be longer than, let's say, 150 years max, from now. I'm sorry you do.

  • @PICLex Wrong? You may think it'll be longer than what I'm saying, but I'm still guessing it'll be within the next 200 years or so, but you might be right; it may very well be 500 years or so, who knows.

  • @IMattchewB

    Wrong.

  • @popceed No, we can't pull it off in the next 100 years. You'll more than likely be 160+ years old when and if we land ourselves on Mars. That's my forecast. Wait and see; well I guess you won't be able to that end 'cause you'll be passed away along with everybody else who is alive today and everybody who will be born during the next several decades.

  • 2020 is the nearest return mission!?

    THAT SUX.

Im going to be 60years old when we finaly land on Mars.

Im 30 yrs old now, and maaaaaaaaaaan, this plane SUX.

We cant pull this off within the next 5 years....REALLY?

  • Instead of the cold war, and the recent wars, all the money spent to that is lost forever, and it only brought death.Without all that we could already be on mars...But no one knows how to invest the money, the only thing that people can think of is war.

  • @InfinityWard312 yeah i musta typed that a bit backwards, im suprised i had the msot thumbs up ont atha dn nobody noticed that lol
