How Ian Fleming created James Bond

Rather an important anchor to the origins of the James Bond character. It's sometimes easy to forget that this is a legacy that's thrived because of strategic branding (including selection of the "James Bond" name itself), and that Ian Fleming was the vision behind it.

It's thought that the character of Bond is either based on Sidney Reilly, Ace of Spades, or Sir William Stephenson - both spies during the early 1900's.

James Bond is a cool sounding name,but Don Pendleton created a real name for REAL hero vs bad guys stories and "Books with BALLS" action adventure,and boldly spells absolute true terror and DEATH to all bad guys.

Ian Fleming is awesome,the current series approved writer James Gardner is fantastic for writing Bond adventures,but Don Pendleton created a master men's action adventure series,which has yet to be made into films.
