In 1991, Marsha and I were lucky enough to meet Bart Lawson. He met him in a film workshop that Marsha was teaching. Although it was not a career interest for him, he showed as much enthusiasm for it as anyone I've ever known. His first film that he wanted to direct? A documentary about tugboats. Why? Because he had often seen them from his office window high above the city in the Empire State Building. He simply wanted to know more about them, to learn something about what the tugboat crews experienced, and life onboard a boat in the busy New York harbors. Sadly, Bart passed away at age 54 while serving as Ambassador At Large for the U.N. in Grenada So this is his film, hope you enjoy it!
