I believe Paul's father knew the King intended to give the Silamanee to his "eldest" blood son. P'Pope is just the adopted son and Paul's mom knows this, that's why she is desperately concern for her "two son" that's what she said in the last part of episode 1. She is only worried about Parote (Paul) and Chalee. At the end of episode 1, she makes Parote (Paul) go study abroad.
