@shifta65 The reason why they call it blue nile.is because when the water is "calm" it assumes a dark blue colour .. The brown colour you see, is the colour the GREAT RIVER has camoing down from the very high & tall Ethiopian Higlands..an avergae of 3000 mters high..

Why do they call it the Blue Nile? Maybe the Brown Nile would be more appropriate. Did you see many LARGE crocodiles? The Blue Nile is supposed to be swarming with large aggressive crocodiles (that's what i was told).
