backwards compatible ps3 with firmware 2.4 has no video/sound!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

Hello everybody, I recently bought a ps3 off Ebay and the video/sound is not working. It is a 60GB original Playstation 3; the model number CECHA01. I turned it on, but no video. I tried the recovery menu option by holding down the ps3 power button for a few seconds and it turns green, then after a 5-8 seconds it shuts down, NO RECOVERY MODE. I CAN NOT go into recovery mode because I don't have firmware 2.5. I checked my connections in the back and they are connected correctly, I tried using the hdmi cable, nothing shows upand I tried connecting the composite cables (red, white, yellow cords), and still nothing shows up. I believe this is a bricked ps3 because the original owner updated to firmware 2.4 about 2 years ago, in 2008. I am definitely not going to send it to sony because it is $150, and the shipping takes a LONG time!! Besides, there is no guarantee that I will my ps3 back, but instead will get a ps3 slim. I am a huge ps3 fan, but I really do not like the ps3 slim!! I know there is a way to fix it. If so what do I need? Do I need to flash the nand in my ps3 motherboard? is there a software out there just like the wii, that could boot up a bricked ps3?? Hurry and let me know everybody, I want to play my backwards compatible ps3 right now!! Please comment, thumbs up, and even subscribe! I really need help, and right now i am frustrated with the system.

HOW ABOUT TURNING OFF THE PS3 AND RESTART IT BY HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON FOR A PERIOD OF TIME UNTILL IT TURNS OFF. THEN RESTART IT NORMALLY.

were you able to fix it? mine has the same problem, Ive tried everything, the 2 beeps, leave it on all nite, ps3 controller secret reset botton, ect ect...a guy who supposely can fix ps3 told me i probably need to change the motherboard. I guess ill just buy me a ps3 slim, only bad thing is Im gonna lose all my saved data :(

dude this is the same thing that happen to me it happen just this last friday i came from school set up my ps3 it worked but i had to do a system update for 3.66 i came down an 2 hours later to see if the updates finish and this happens i try a set of shit but nothing works i might have to carry it to sony to repair it

nope, i bought it on ebay about 7 months ago, and it just gave me a black screen.

so what do you do, if your power button doesnt work? and it wont even accept a disc. Blue and red lights are on but nothing seems to work
