Eight Line Poem - David Bowie

Bowie: yet another genius who would have been told to give up if he was on the x-factor. I feel sorry for todays kids; they have nothing but watered down U.S chart soul R'n'B clones; pointless junk which will never be remembered the way we remember and still thrill to hear Bowie. Music evolved and developed for hundreds of years and each change was a thrill for each generation...then it all stopped changing around 1994; thanks to the shareholders.

This is a magnificent song, and it's nice to relate it to anyone's childhood. You can read the poem in different ways, but I like to read them as a (self)portrait...
The tactful cactus by your window - Surveys the prairie of your room - The mobile spins to its collision - Clara puts her head between her paws - They've opened shops down West side - Will all the cacti find a home - But the key to the city - Is in the sun that pins the branches to the sky

Thanks a lot for this beautiful vid!!! Those curls are very funny indeed...me and my boyfriend had them too at that time, I think everybody had them. It did cost a lot btw to have them made...

I enjoyed every one of his looks and personas, and I haven't found a song I haven't liked, i'm discovering each song slowly so I don't go through all the albums too quick. Hunky dory seems to be my favorite so far

@pq4u2 i understand your sentiment but looking at history of the tv or any show medium there have always been talent shows, folk like bowie or even folk not at that level, cause it's a high level, make their own way. it's right wing politics vs left wing, how many bands can the republicans of america get to endorse their elections? right wing media love us to enjoy the freak show and we love it too because a university education is too expensive for the freaks. bowie et al seen the irony

@pq4u2 im 16 and i dont listen to watered down xfactor shit :).

scobiedog1 - I don't think it is. His father died in 1969.

ok thanks, any idea when this photo was taken then? it's just that, at first glance, i thought the guy on the left was bowie; same hairline & very similar profile.

Thank you so much Rosa, love the vids, I am a fan, I have seen him a few times live in the 80's and I wore my red shoes :)
I adored him before though, I think Space Oddity was the first song to make me think about music and I bought all his singles with my pocket money, Keep up the great work Rosa :)
