Posibilities to do this:

Project64 - Play F-Zero X and in the cheats section, turn on Super Ultimate Mega Fast Mode.

Good work! I never thought you could do that by selecting the characters around the screen like that. Well, I have the Gameshark code on my emulator, just like you typed it in your description.
