Hey everyone, I got this V265 Vocoder by Electro-Harmonix for my birthday last year, but haven't had much of a chance to try it out. I noticed the other day that there just aren't many demo videos out there for this cool little device, so I thought I'd make one.

I used the V256 Vocoder along with my trusty RP80 multi-effects pedal by Digitech to cover the chorus to the song "Somebody's Watching Me" by Mysto & Pizzi" (itself a cover of the song of the same name by Rockwell, circa 1984). I honestly haven't heard the song in probably a year, and hadn't before recording this, so I was pretty impressed that I got not only the pitch but also the tempo correct for the most part. Since it lined up, I threw in a few seconds of the actual chorus underneath for my second try, just for comparison. In general, the actual recording doesn't use nearly as much of the robotic vocoder sound, but I think it still ends up to be a pretty cool interpretation of the song anyway.

Hopefully useful/entertaining to someone out there...
