@sneakyvanquisher No, actually the U.S. would usually wear blue. It was tradition back then for drummers to wear the opposite color of the regular uniform, making blue into red.
-
haha yes they are, dead to the colonial
-
I have heard that musicians wore coats in reverse colors to those of the rank and file.
-
The musicians wore the red coats
-
A plus one for that. lol
-
the redcoats are reserved for the senior classes.
-
Is this Americans in red coats? Hahaha, so there are still loyalists :D
-
not to be rude, but we don't show off as you put it we just do what we were taught to do, though I think I've seen them before one of our marches

Hey, sorry this comment is like six months after u posted but when you said there's not enough people doing it I'd actually really like to do it, thing is I'm British so the only re enactments i could do are the english civil war and the napoleonics :(
I want to do the seven years war! lol :P
I'm pretty sure this is in Colonial Williamsburg, because that's the Wythe House in the background there. The Corps is for sure not Colonial Williamsburg. Just curious, who is Susan Row? That name rings a bell.

I don't know whom the players are, but the location is indeed Colonial Williamsburg.

This is NOT the Fife and Drum Corps of Colonial Williamsburg, though it is in Williamsburg's Market Square. CWFD do not have white bands on their hats. Furthermore they don't scratch their faces and get into place after falling in. ( former CW F&D person ) Nice clip though, thanks for sharing.

What group is this then? I didn't realize there were other groups entertaining the public at this location.
