"The honest in heart, who feel that the true Kingdom of God ought to have special and powerful credentials, and not just be another voice in the crowd, will not go away disappointed from an examination of the claims and evidences of the Book of Mormon." -Hugh W. Nibley

Thoughtful insights from 32 top scholars continue the journey into the Book of Mormon's thousand-year span, aiding understanding of this sacred text. Mormon's description of the land, religious history, culture, and traditions create a fascinating mosaic. Stunningly beautiful images filmed on location in Guatemala and Mexico combined with the art of Joseph Brickey illuminate the rich culture of the Book of Mormon.

We invite all people everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost.

So you dont believe that we are children of a father in heaven?

We believe that we are all Gods children, even if you are not adopted into the family of God. We believe that we have a father in heaven, and we are his children. He loves us, and wants us to have what he has. and yes, your right, the scriptures that I gave u are focusing on those who have accepted christ as their savior and are adopted into the family of God. We can both agree with that.

  • @jaromsmiss

Please read the the entire chapter from the start, I just have. It is only talking about those who are born again. Adopted into Gods family. Not his childern from some sort of pre-existance. So I am sorry my brother but it does not answer my question at all. Only adds to the contridictions between Bibical Christianity and LDS Doctrine. I am starting to feel that I have been duped & find myself moving closer to the Bible and a real relationship with Jesus Christ

    Romans: 8:16-17

  • @MrAlanNZ There are a lot of things that I dont understand myself. We cant always understand or comprahend the eternities.

  • @MrAlanNZ

Please investigate, dont listen to what nobody says. Ask the man who knows. keep doing your research. I respect that your doing research.

  • @MrAlanNZ

LOl while it does say in the bible that we can be Heirs with christ and have what he has. so actually I did answer your question and your wrong.

  • @jaromsmiss

So God had a Father who had a father who had a father.

I am trying to understand how this can be. The Bible is very clear that this is not the case. The Book of Mormon is also clear that this is not the case.

It's not until later on when this doctrine was written. So for a God that is not changing it seem to be very confusing.

I guess this confusion is why my home teacher doesn't encourage me to investigate but just to follow the prophet he knows the way.

  • @jaromsmiss

I thought the whole thing about being LDS was that we are striving to become Gods.

Even though I see that no where in the Bible it is all through the D&C and the Teachings of the Prof Joseph Smith.

So you answer is scooting around the edges not actually answering the question.

  • @MrAlanNZ

also, the angel (or messenger) Moroni had came to Joseph before the second coming of christ, and will, according to LDS theology, have all that the father has one day.(aka godhood)

  • @MrAlanNZ

just because you respect and praise somebody doesnt mean they are a God. Just like people praise joseph smith or even paul, doesnt mean that they are more than human and are a God. I personally praise my dad, respect and have learned a lot from him in my life. I would never consider him a god in any way though.
