AUSTIN, TX: Part 3 of 3 • Excerpts from Merlot Monday - Led by WOM Evangelist John Moore, panelists Aaron Delucia, Liz Arreaga, Jake McKee answer questions and discuss B2B and B2C marketing strategies, customer services and using various online tools such as: http://leveragesoftware, http://bazaarvoice.com/, http://lithium.com/, http://pluck.com/, http://jivesoftware.com
While the tools are important, it's still how we talk with the customer that is key. Having a high level executive make a phone call to a customer to thank them for their business is a still a excellent way to connect, and get people talking about your brand.
Further discussion about online and offline strategies to create good word of mouth about your brand included how to utilize store receipts. That little piece of paper that everyone gets after the purchase. The panel suggests how Best Buy could do it better. Best Buy gives each customer a negative message to take home with them when they leave the store; a very long receipt which details the laborious process of how to return an item if it breaks. Why not give the customer links to other great items that would go with their purchase?
