PORTLAND, Maine - A 47-foot rescue boat crew from Station Portsmouth Harbor, NH, retrieves the kayak of Hamilton Wood from the water near Boon Island, Maine, Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009. Its always a good idea to have your name and phone # on the kayak. so they can call to see if your ok and wont have to search for you. I like the idea of a cell phone in a bag.

it looks they tried to retrieve it.
also, that kayak is 16-18 feet long. its hard for 2 people to pull that out of choppy waters onto a 47 foot lifeboat safely

You don't want this kayak to trigger another search for no reason. Pull it out, find the owner, and take it back to shore.
