REPORT: The German city of Dörentrup is testing a new, energy-efficient way to light up its streets at night. While lamp posts are switched off after 9pm, residents need but dial a number on their phones to get 15 minutes of light in their neighbourhood.

  • @xXxValiant1xXx You're an idiot. This wouldn't work in the United Sates not because of the federal government (street lights are primarily under city and state regulation) but rather because everyone would think it was a nuisance and then people would start having hysterics about the government wanting complete control.

  • Leave it up to the Germans to come up with a brilliant logical and practical idea! It would never work in the U.S. Our government wants total control.
