Terrible umpiring by Rudi - 2009 Ashes

Rudi vs Mitchell Johnson in the 2009 Ashes series, two plumb LBW's turned down. Have to think something dodgy was going on there. Maybe some brown paper bags full of money exchanged on street corners?

Rudi's umpiring was terrible all throughout the series, mainly favouring his South African brethren.

Oh and no, Mark Nicholas, there was no inside edge on the second one. The angle is deceptive and could give the impression of one, but the sound is at the wrong time and it's the wrong type of sound. Most likely Bell's spikes scraping the wicket as he fell towards the off side.

First one was dead straight. Terrible from Rudi. I think its the shape that Mitch imparted to the ball that made it to swing rather than seam being unscrambled/scrambled. Bit like how Malinga bowls those out-swingers.

Regarding the second, at 1:00 you clearly see a deflection which seems to be off the bat. Side-on hotspot should be able to show that.

Rudi's umpiring is very dodgy. Remember when he gave Sanga out on 194 in Hobart when Lanka were only 100 runs away from a victory. The ball hit his shoulder when his bat was below his chest. Ridiculous umpiring
