  • @meyestroh Yes, it's on DVD. Go to amazon(dot)com. :)

  • This is such a great production, everyone is having such a good time.

  • IS THIS PRODUCTION AVAILABLE ON TAPE OR DVD

  • @oboewizard Yes! The pirate king is more original than Jack Sparrow! G&S were makiing fun of pirates in 1879. And this is the best pirate king, Jon English, from 1994, so again, pre POTC. :D

  • Who suddenly felt the need to kneel at 0:53?

  • It is nice to see a production of Pirates where the Pirate King is not Jack Sparrow! I like this production better than their MIkado. It has its ups and downs. I really don't like the trio and would prefer the women's chorus. I also hate the jump into rock occasional - it seems like such a disconnect. But the cast is great and there is a lot of funny bits. Overall it is a fun production! Thanks for posting!

  • Overall this is a good production, but did they have to ruin "Oh Happy Day, Oh Joyous Glee" on Sullivan?

  • I have done Pirates with our local Operatic Company, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope to do it again some day soon, and seeing this fine video makes me want it all the more. Well doen to all the cast, who no doubt have gone on to better and higher things. Well done.

    John

  • @gemrox1 I've always enjoyed four-part harmonies at minimum. As an arranger, I find them fairly simplistic... but I agree wholeheartedly with you on the other part. Jon English does a masterful job. And don't worry... familiarity will come with time and practice.
