  • @SVL0RM00N AWE cards were subjectively some of the best of their time. You also had the GUS and Sound Canvas SC-55 Mk II and SC-88 that are great synths too, but the price was prohibitive to all but the most hardcore enthusiast, IIRC. For what they were, you would be hard pressed to do better if you were a gamer on a normal budget than buy an AWE32/64.
