From the works of living enlightened master Paramahamsa Nithyananda. In this clip Swamiji explains the meditation technique of meditation on the neutral zone -- the zone between incoming and outgoing breaths and vice versa. The clip is taken from discourse titled, "Beyond Body and Mind" which may be ordered online at Anandagalleria dot com.

  • Swamiji - lovely message, terrible audio - stop fiddling with your mike, the scraping and popping noises are deafening and distract from your discourse!!

  • Dear Sir: Kindly refrain from these comments. It is not what you are saying but how arrogantly you are putting forth your comments. You are welcome not to tune in to these discourses.

  • One of my Gurus told me that this is the same technique Buddha use to gain enlightenment.

When I concentrate on inhalation, I feel the energy from my breath collect in my forehead. As I exhale, I feel the energy cascade down my spine to the root center.

When concentrating on exhale, I feel the energy in the root center pulled up as my breath comes in to the heart center. As I exhale, I feel the intelligence express through my crown center.

This is truly an amazing technique.

  • Thank you for this video.

  • what are we supposed to do during the NS and the outgoing breath? One possibility of many.

You breathe in, NS, Shiva breathes in, NS, You breathe in, NS, Shiva breathes in, NS.

  • I noticed that the breaths coming from stomach like deep breaths and there was emptiness in the throat area. There was some vast empty feeling in the throat area similar to when v excercise and take deep breaths..And yes, like swamiji said that could know that the time spent on this vast feeling was equal to the time of incoming breath and outgoing breath..catching of the 1st neutral zone was a bit easier than the 2nd neutral zone, i felt. Thanks for sharing yr wisdom.May god bless you always

  • I have one other question. If Swamiji says "now be aware only of the incoming breath", what are we supposed to do during the NS and the outgoing breath?

It seems very hard to not to notice/be aware of the other phases of breath because they are there.

My guess is that I should just remain as unclutched as possible during the other breath phases.

  • Hello, I participate at the Columbus, OH temple. One person who has been doing the teachings for 1 year said that the important thing when listening to a discourse from Swami was to place attention on the silence between his words. And that if you can hear a discourse in a foreign language, it is best because then you dont spend any time intellectualing about it.

Personally, I find the teachings rational in my native tongue and worth listening too.

  • is there any way to get the name of the music track - i like the flute piece very much

  • many people have the habit of reading the comments and sometimes making up their minds about these - one way or the other - in this light it may be better to remove the comments from endlessknot and also your reply to that...just a suggestion
