@davenportmt I think Diesel engines are amazing in general, I love the Cummins 6bt but when it comes to Powerstroke I am big into the 6.0's, especially the 03-04 ones. The 7.3L is a very simple but reliable engine, ive seen his vids and they were very informative to me back when I didnt know much about Powerstrokes.

Nice truck.

Ya know. Every body says the 6.0s are junk. The motor them selves are reliable. Its all the emissions crap they put on them to " have a smaller carbon foot print" that makes them unreliable. If the 6.0's would have been introduced without emissions no body would have a problem with them. Sure they are a pain to work on but if you put a bit of money into them and fix the weak links they will run for a long time. Buy the way. Nice truck if i were to buy a 6.0 that is exsactaly what i would wan

@Seetherwind common rail into an 06-07 superduty is my dream truck.
-
@CATZR600BRAAAAAP lol thats all I am saying, it's sad they put such a longlasting engine into such an unreliable truck.
-
@Seetherwind No one with a cummins says they're a dodge guy, we know they're shit! haha I'll admit it. the body will fall off way before the motor quits.
Whys everyone gotta be so uptight here!! lol
-
@Seetherwind it's sad when you go to buy a dodge, you have to look in the 6 speed only section as their auto trannies are so notorious for being garbage. and the trucks themself, suck, flat out. Live axle and the inline 6 motor is the only thing i would even think about putting in my chevy. if the chevy HD trucks came factory with those 2 things, I would guarantee Ford and Dodge would not sell trucks anymore
-
@CATZR600BRAAAAAP It's amusing that you are not only arguing the wrong point but failed to read my last post. I said resale value is the only reason why someone buys a dodge over a chevy, the dodge itself is cheaper. I never said the cummins engine didn't make huge power, I am saying the dodge truck is a piece of fucking garbage. trash, no good. As for power, yeah you are probably right on 4 cummins to 1 duramax, as you can build a cummins far cheaper than you can a duramax.

@Seetherwind Behind the times, ahead of everyone at the track, hook and dyno.
-
@Seetherwind HAHAAH behind the times, your right an EFI Live tuned 06 Common Rail is behind the times. 2 less clyinders and still making more power. Behind the times? everybody and their brother runs a 12v or P-Pumped 24v at hooks and they run the show, 4 cummins trucks to 1 dmax out there.
ANY TRUE diesel guy knows the 12v is the king, reliable as hell, and can make huge power numbers.
I like dmax trucks and have a lot of respect for them, but were far from behind the times.
The 6spd manual is horrible behind the 6.0 I had one got rid of it bought a 6.0 with the torqshift much better. The 6spd was okay when you were rolling but to get rolling was a struggle on hills with a load.

@Graveltrucking Maybe it needed a better driver. If you 6.0 was struggling, its probably low on power. The gear ratio of the transmission is low, so it'll move just not as fast as a auto. Just put the pedal down, then she'll move!

alright, im about to legit buy a diesel. i like the ford 6.0s because of the price, but i dont have a problem owning any other truck because from other forums and info the chevys and dodges arent bad trucks. can anyone give me some guidance on the 6.0s what to look for if i buy one? what i can do to prevent the many problems people claim to have with these trucks? i noticed you said you had arp head studs and a egr delete. if i do this on a used truck with 100 to 150k miles on it what sould i ex
