Pruning to elevate canopy to allow more light to the understory, open veiw to back pasture, and remove deadwood. Everything had to be lowered because the below landscape was ferns, japanese maples, oregon grape and other sensitive plants.

The face cut on the top was to pull the limb upward to avoid breaking branches on the leylands.
