Nathan is fantastic. I love the guy on camera at the end of the frist line who mutters "Oh my god!"... I have to agree. What a terrific world that has such singers and songwriters in it.

right, thanks very much too. I am shorter and smaller than Stan and Garnet, shorter windpipe, higher pitch. Really just mechanics. Also, I think it's age. remember garnet used to sing in a higher tenor on Stan's albums and now he is a true Baritone. So yeah, usually a capo up a fret or more for now. Later, maybe no capo. I wrote some of my own stuff this way, anticipating the vocal shift.

I'm pretty sure that Nathan is performing this song in the next key up from the key in which Stan recorded the original version. Similarly for Nathan's performances of North West Passage. In both cases Nathan puts his own stamp on the songs without losing their essence.

It's natural that father and son would have similar voices, but life's wear and tear have left its mark on both voices. Sorta like Bob and Jacob Dylan. One can catch similarities, but each is an individual voice.

Dammit people. That man has an incredible voice in his own right, without need to compare it to anyone else.
Yes, his father is a folk legend. But Nathan will one day hold that status himself if his music and performance continues to be as good as it always has been. Give the man some credit, for goodness sakes.

I agree on both counts, actually. Nathan has his own voice, which is similar to his father. On the other hand, it's different in it's own way. They both are amazingly strong voices, and I think that's the source of the comparisons. I won't lie, I started listening to Nathan because of Stan, but now I can honestly say I'm a full blown Nathan Rogers fan. I was lucky enough to hear his mom sing, too. Between his parents and the hard work he's put in, it's no wonder he sounds so good.
