That ACR at 8.4lbs is a hefty bitch.

The firing pin retaining pin isn't a problem because it requires a few hundred round break in, when you take it apart for cleaning you'll notice that some of the ring came off clean.
This happened on mine so I can't say that it happens on every ACR. I put 100 rounds through it and it shown some wear on the barrel firing chamber (like you've probably come across in the reviews) and the ring on the retaining pin. Ever since then I fired over 600 rounds through it and no additional damage or wear

@toyman07, too bad HK treats us civilians like dirt. The MR556 just seems too damn heavily with little innovation. For example, it just an M4 with the G36 piston and the heavy quad rails that everyone is now moving away from. The 416 has all the weaknesses of the M16 less the Direct Impingement - the way it cocks, unequal ambi-controls, + this version weighs like a ton! I get the IAR ability - with the heavier barrel. HK needs to really innovate to justify their high costs.

@toyman07 I hear you, but I hope you are wrong. Tom has inserted steel rails behind the resealed polymer. I tell you, I can't that it was cut at all! So far, the only thing I noticed is the paint on it. It's not as durable as the original finish. Let me say this. it look like a duck, it quacks like a duck,... It's a duck! Everything matches the original G36. I do fear that it will crack, but to date it hasn't and with the reinforcements just like original.

About this video? OP regarding the weight and balance differences? You forgot to mention that you have the enhanced ACR with the aluminum quad front guard on it. Makes it very nose heavy. Hence why i'm looking for the basic folder with polymer guard or just get an enhanced a dump or sell the HG. Imo all this quad rail crap is a lemming fad. Single add on rail sections on polymer are fine imho.

@shinli00 Damn character count..
Anyway I was saying the chopstick and tbostic converts would fail on any military trial or exercise. Cutting the receiver and plastic welding the area like they do weakens the already weak polymer SL8 receiver even more. My point is the SL8 used that indention for strength. And I have been on many HK boards as I'm an owner of the said SL8 and a MR556. So I do know who and what you are talking about. So unless you get a REAL G36? no real test.
-
Im doing that to my SL8-6 as well. Though gonna keep mine stock aka no cutting of the receiver or the butt. So I can switch back and forth as the SL8 is a great weapon on its own.
And lets get real everyone of those conversions are still Sl8's NOT genuine G36's. Ive used a G36 during my service in the German army and both tbostic and chopstick would guarantee have cracks (area of the cut out dimple).
Point is these are public rifles and should be compared to an SL8.

Hey there! Yes sorry had to limit it too contacts etc. only. Way too many immature and spiteful children on youtube. So I'll either PM you or comment directly on your page.
And lastly to the other huge number of know it alls, super secret or specop "operators" on youtube. I'm merely an ex German army regular and now a lowly investigator with a German police agency.

@Toyman07 Hi, I was curious if I could ask you about your opinion/experience with the G36? I tried sending a PM but your contact lock prevented me. If you have a few minutes at some point could you temporarily add me as a contact so we could briefly chat about the rifle? I have used one, but only as a rental so I'd love to hear from someone who has real world experience with a newer configuration of the weapon.
Does the reciprocating charging handle on the SCAR bug you or is it ignorable

@MrNwnwnwnw It doesn't bother me until I try to grip it like an AR15 with my thumb sticking up while holding it by the magazine well. You'll only do that once or twice because you'll get a sharp reminder not to do that by the SCAR.
