I really wanted to show (and see) the difference between my new Celestion G-12 80 Classic Lead and the original Sheffield 1230 that was in my Peavey Bandit Amp. I was pretty bummed on how little you could tell through the recording and how similar they were right after installation. But Between the time I Recorded with the 1230 (and the first Clean Channel G12-80) I recorded a lot of Electric Guitar for my Album and Broke in the Speaker a bit so even with the crappy Laptop Mic you can hear quite a bit of difference.
All of the Presets should be the same though I am pretty sure the Pre Gain Knob is slightly turned up in the G-12 80 Lead Channel Demo (Sorry) with the Mic on the Computer being so fickle I had to keep the volume pretty low which also hinders showing you the difference between speakers.
I chose the riff (Two Rock Demo Slow Dancing in a Burning Room) because it is a pretty dynamic riff that would show some of the higher and lower pitches and the ability for the Speaker to make single notes shine through (which is what it is supposed to do), I did not choose the riff because I am exceptional at it (obviously).
Hope everyone enjoy's!

  • Do you have tabs for the riff?????????????????

  • I got this amp, and I was wondering if I could hook a cab up to it. theres place where it says external speaker 100w in the back, does that mean I can hook one up?

  • @icychillgrill3 i might be too late to say this but i have this amp and it rocks great for metal, thats mostly what use it for, i play like aild, and atr, lamb of god that kind of stuff works great for it

  • @XXXsecretmanXXX umm from what i understand, it has a tube preamp... but a ss power section.. so in other words, it might as well be solid state... cool people crank amps for power tube distortion anyway... can u do that with this amp? didnt think so...

  • Very interesting comparison. To me the unbroken celestian sounded warmer than the Sheffield but after break in it sounded brighter. How long was your break in period and was the lead channel comparison done with the same amp settings, the break up on that celestian iis sweet.. Nice vid, thanks

  • @Ascully its a valve one, get informed!

  • ive been considering buying this amp i play melodic metal and a drop c i considered the line 6 spider 3 but i want something simple i can make better with effects pedals should i buy this amp
