This is my new siren i got from the Helena fire department. I don't have the correct power supply for it so i just ran it off of a power drill for now(well, my dad did). The siren is from the 1940s and didn't come with the cover, so i don't know its model number.
was this on ebay several months ago? i remember seeing a siren looking exactly like this

Wow you're lucky to have that thing! That's an early 40s Federal Electric Model 7A, low tone (8 ports). Looks like you even have the coding damper for the top too, which is a really rare find! With that said, it technically makes it a "FEDELCODE" 7A (FEDeral ELectric CODEd) since that's what the damper was for, sort of like the coding with a set of air horns, only using a siren instead. Wicked looking motor starter for it too, definitely original to that siren. Awesome score!

@murrfarms Hi, thanks for the comment, glad to find out what the model number is, and what the point of the coding damper is. I paid $100 for this with absolutely nothing wrong with it, besides no cover. Ive got a lot of looking at this sirens wiring before i run it fully, because the wiring in it has cloth insulation.
