if by "not in the interest of the child" one reads "not in the economic interest of the mother", the "concerns" of the establishment can be better understood...
were 85% of custodial parents be of the "unpreffered sex", this argument would be discarded at once. children ARE at present treated as "assets". they understand that should the presumption be 50/50 parenting, all rationale for one parent to make payments to the other would also vanish. its the money they are protecting, not children.
