Picked up this neat record for about $18 a few years back at a record store, and it can still be found for $15-$25 on Ebay etc. I liked Sonic Youth and had never seen such a record, so I grabbed it not knowing if the price was right at the time. Turns out, it was.

Concentric Groove records have two tracks sut side by side, so instead of being one song and then the next, BOTH songs per side run from the run-in to the run-out groove. So how do you pick the song? You dont! Hey, I didnt say it was practical, I said it was neat!

Song: 100%/Creme Brulee/Genetic/Hendrix Necro

Year: 1992

  • i've been wanting a record player for a long time but never really had the money to buy one... i actually do now, but i'm still pondering on which one to buy... which one should i buy if i wanted to be able to put it on my iPod also?

  • @unit731christ If you have basic computer knowledge, You can use any turntable to your computer to record the tracks. Otherwise, You need to buy a USB equipped player. As far as brands etc? No idea. Crosley make a lot of players now, but its not the highest quality, but good enough for most amateur listeners. Maybe just google 'USB turntable" and see what you come up with...

  • Was this a Record Store Day release? How FABULOUS!

  • @sideshowtink Nope....Just a regular ol' limited edition :)

  • funny how the first and last song of the actual DIRTY album are on the first side of this 10" and all 3 of the singers singing

  • it's really neat as a novelty item, but damn... what a crazy idea, never heard about concentrics.

  • @unit731christ Actually, the player that this guy is using is a great turntable. It is fairly inexpensive, has USB capabilities, comes with software to convert your LP's to MP3, and is very high quality. It is an Audio-Technica AT-LP120
