if you love his music you really just gotta see him live. he sings to a backtrack prolly because of the tweeks on his voice (similar to that of eminem, kid cudi and kesha) - i assure you in concert it comes together really well. in some videos it seems like it only captures the backtrack but his mic is totally on (you can hear him clearly at some points) ... hes not beyonce but he never claims to be
