    This is Muhammad Ahmed Al-Mahdi founder of a sufi sect called the Ansar. It was formed in Sudan, actually he fought the Anglo-Turks and liberated Sudan. In the film You will see General Chinese Gordon dressed like a Turk and the Ottoman -Egyptian Turkish army fighting against him.

    Well, to be politically correct- these are Sudanese. While the Islamic faith is well known in accordance with the Turks and the Ottoman Empire- this religious movement took place in Africa. But I understand, Olivier really knows how to get you pumped up for war! haha
