The Pacific islands of Kiribati were among the last places to be colonized by humans. But now, because of rising sea levels, they may be among the first to be abandoned. Should Kiribati President Anote Tong surrender to climate change and evacuate? Can anything be done to help him buy more time?
Would like to remind you that these islands have been populated for 1000s of years. That Kiribati is not one island but 33 that will need to be evacuated. This is not solely the work of natural environmental change that you imply with your final comment. Have you met any I-Kiribati? Or any other person whose losing their homeland due to climate change or any other reason for that matter? Do you look them in the eyes and simply say get over it?
