2005 Albena Denkova Maxim Staviski WORLDS FD Bulgaria

A fantastic team whose work I almost always adored, except for this very strange, hyperbolic 2005 rendition of African rhythms. It leaves me out of breath, even after 5 years. (I would like to show this to real Africans and see what they thought of it, might be interesting!!! -- I always have a problem when rich, white fokes try to do anything African, and that includes funk, jazz, pop music, hip-hop, corn rows, gospel, and singing in general).




A spin bobble probably cost them a 2006 Olympic title. It seemed to me they were under-marked in early years when I thought they were deserving, then over-marked in later years. But then, I don't pretend to understand the new scoring system, nor do I care to. 2004 World Silver medalist, and World Champions in 2006, 2007

I have a hard time forgiving them for taking Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon's 2007 World title, again, in my opinion. Great champions of the sport, however.
