What will end the global hunger crisis? Solutions that last.
We fight hunger by helping farmers grow more, by improving access to credit, by connecting entrepreneurs to new markets.
With your help, we can end hunger. Please give as generously as you can. Thank you.
@sjalq I note your reply and respect it's contents and your views. I abhor the outrageous behaviour of the CIA in funding Contra rebels throughout the World generally and I am aware of arms trades. But are you missing my point? The land that is Somalia is not capable of sustaining another several hundred thousand, irrespective of high yield seed and crops. without WATER, famine will occur repeatedly. In all but Human Nature, it's called 'the Survival of the fittest.' 5 into 3 wont work

@willmurphy1951 Private aid organizations will do more good than state sponsored organizations since they are generally far more accountable to the donors and have to be self sustaining. If the CIA and Ethiopia could stop providing weapons to whoever this week calls they want to be the government of Somalia then a large part of the problem will also go away.
Markets work, people do not starve when they have safety and freedom of movement and the freedom to trade.

In 1991, Somalia had a serious famine. While their own Countrymen charged a tariff to unload donated foods, getting rich quick, their fellow country people to the North perished, a total of over 350,000.Those that survived 20yrs courtesy of donated food went on to conceive and create another generation, now starving, in a land quite clearly incapable of sustaining them. Will a further cash input only lead to a future disaster? Is intervention the way? I don't know the answer, please help me.
