Very rare duet of Roy and Gabby. Roy always considered Gabby to be his mentor and surrogate father. They always played off each other well.

It was because of Gabby I went to see the old westerns. At the Roy Rogers museum there is some memorabilia that was Gabby's. I should mention all of Roy's sidekicks things were there, including Marabelle the jeep, trigger, and bullet the dog! (stuffed) That was when the museum was located in Victorville, Ca. Roy would greet visitors at times, and he was quite a nice man, short in stature, and warm talking. I sure miss him.

Western actors never get the credit they deserve. I grew up watching Gabby Hayes and still have a picture of him on my wall. One of the few that could carry a bad script. Also, have a Hopalong Cassidy picture. My other nomination for carrying a bad script was the B sci-fi specialist Peter Graves.

does any one remember "fither ither ither roy-al fither ectim' thy ehhh"? Gabby and Roy had that refrain sung by background singers on 78rpm record in the mid 1950's. Gabby and Roy told stories to kids on the record and the singers cut in with that refrain when Gabby got to talking too much. Gabby hated it.
Classic! George "Gabby" Hayes never really got the credit he deserved. He needs to have an Oscar for "Outstanding Continuing Performance as the Same Character in Seemingly Every Western Ever Made". He really improved every movie he was in. And Roy was my hero, even if he did have to sing all these dadblasted songs and kiss the girl. The world seemed so simple back then. It's a shame we have to grow up, but Roy and Gabby left us with a lot of great memories.
