Chappaqua (1966) was written and directed by Conrad Rooks and is the semi-autobiographical account of his attempt to pull himself up out of a pit of drug/alcohol addiction. The film includes appearances by counter-cultural icons Allen Ginsberg and William S. Burroughs and musical performances by The Fugs, Ravi Shankar and Ornette Coleman. At the end of this scene featuring The Fugs, that is Conrad Brooks rolling around amidst the crushed sugar cubes.

  • @lecagot2 Not really? Our culture has always been fucked. At least this isn't religiousbased

  • The beginnings of the decline of western civilization.

  • @GrouchoLenin - I am not familiar with Frank Zappa's book. Zappa was fairly candid about his life, so I'll take him at his word.

If you don't think that a bizarre individual wouldn't eat shit, you have a much more elevated and unrealistic opinion of the human race than I do. The movie "Pink Flamingos" comes to mind. "Any thinking human being," indeed.

  • @xibungo71 You believe wrong(ly). This idiotic rumor has been floating around since the late Sixties. Sometimes Alice Cooper is the other contestant. Not that it was necessary, as any thinking human being would immediately know this never happened, but Frank Zappa refuted this nonsense in The Real Frank Zappa book. He wrote that the closest he ever came to eating shit was at a Holiday Inn buffet in North Carolina. And he never stomped baby ducks on stage either.

  • The Book of Enoch contradicts the word of God, therefore it's useless for truth,

  • perpetuate the myth you fool

  • My favorite song of theirs was "Dirty Old Man."
