Bobbi Brown shares her 50-plus beauty tips and philosophy

Bobbi Brown, makeup artist to the stars and founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, learned early in life to accept her unconventional looks as beautiful. It was the people around her who sometimes needed to be convinced.
"My mother, when I was 21, came to me and said I have to talk to you. 'I think you're beautiful, but you'd be gorgeous with a nose job,'" Brown told a crowd of hundreds of women and men who came to hear her speak about looking your best after turning 50.
The topic of health and beauty in the fifth decade of life was among the most popular at the convention, with doxens of product lines and expert speakers filling the exhibition hall to offer help and product samples to the women in attendance.

You use young models and not older models in your ads, but you will! Can't you find older women who look good? Why do you make excuses? I would like to see what your makeup and method of application looks on the mature face. If you want to appeal to women over 50, show us in your ads what we are going to look like, not what our daughters will look like, Many older women don't wear makeup; and "youth advertising" is the reason. Adrianne Arpel already knows this and we are loyal consumers.

@visceralanding i think the most common thing asians try to enhance with makeup are their eyes -- to appear bigger and round. she didn't finish her thought, so it came it out wrong.

why does she say, "if you were lucky enough to be born Asian..." ? Are those who are born Asian luckier than those who aren't? I really don't get it; just an unusual remark. (I'm half Korean btw.)

You wanna know something Bobbi? I really LIKE your nose! I love the shape of it, and it certainly doesn't look big at all! I'm sick of cookie-cutter, "barbie doll" noses on everyone in the media!  I like people with their own noses, the ones that God gave 'em, instead of the one Dr. PS gave 'em. =]
