43. Transition

What I wanted to achieve with this video was a look at the changing of relationships, and how those relationships evolve and change each character, both as this game moves forward in its timeline, but also how these changes are evident in what we already know from the Final Fantasy VII world.

This video can basically be split into two sections. The first, focuses on new beginnings, where the characters are meeting up, and previous relationships are revealed. As the music intensifies, we move into tension and suspicion between the characters. Finally, the last part of the video shows the decay of those relationships, resulting in conflict and betrayal. The editing here is also designed to showcase not just the individual fights themselves, but also the combination of the two seperate scenes showing how conflict is steadily becoming more prominent in the FF7 storyline.

If you watch carefully, you'll notice that during the final portion of the video, the two fight scenes are actually systematically placed to appear as if each character is fighting one another in one scene, rather than two.

This will likely also be my last video, if not one of my last. I've been really busy in the past year, and I haven't had a lot of time for editing. I don't think the coming year will be much better... but who knows. Maybe I'll come out of the blue one day with something shiny and new...

I've been watching this repeatedly for over a week now, and I must comment again. You are a MASTER at this. Truly. I only wish this music had lasted longer - right when the chill spasms began attacking me with full force, the music ended. My editing will never quite match your brilliance, but I would like to move someone so forcefully as you do to me one of these days.
