The movie Top Gun did more for the F-14's reputation than the plane ever did to earn it,.

Without highly skilled pilots this airplane is just a few thousand pounds of expensive scrap metal.

Imagine trying to land a 64 ft span airplane in a 100 ft wide area that you are approaching at 160 knots, in the dark, in the rain.

Your landing strip is moving in 3 directions at once.... and you can't even see it until you are less than 1000 ft from touchdown.

Naval Aviators...the best of the best.

The F-14 Tomcat was or is, to me, one of the most awesome fighter planes in U.S. Naval history: its design was fabulous, full of grace, power, manoeuvrability,....has always been my favorite, pity they are already very old. They should modernise them and make the F-14 more advanced, equal to current fighter planes like the F-22 Raptor. U.S fighterplanes have always been my favorite and they're more beautiful and better than those of the russians....eat thát and fuck you, Poetin and Medvedev!
