Inside Story - Piracy - Sept 29 - Part 1

Somali pirates who seized a ship carrying tanks and weapons are surrounded by at least three foreign warships. Piracy itself is nothing new, but the reaction is - because only when a cargo of weapons was threatened did the world really react.

how about send some bait ships for the pirates to try taking, wait for the pirates to get along side, then whip out the flame throwers and 50cal cannons. maybe have some attack helicopters just destroy every last pirate boat. repeat the proccess as needed. just keep sending bait ships with attack helicopters just out of sight.. when they get attacked, helicopters get there in 5mins and destroy every one of them. now THATS justice!

Piracy is an act of armed robbery on resource boats...

You're suggesting the use of capital punishment to be used against armed robbers, not to mention without a trial.

I've been robbed at gunpoint before and while justice should be served, it's certainly not a crime worthy of having a person killed.

There's something seriously wrong with you if you call that justice.

US has engaged in many conflicts and has succeeded in most of them. Winning a war is how we became a nation that's how many nations exist today. If we never won a conflict out of the many we have gotten into, the US would not exist. Friendly fire exists in all wars it is not a matter of intelligence but rather accidents. I don't know where you hear all these false accounts. Our soldiers just do as they are commanded your argument is with the politicians of America who are dumb

Victory for the US military in Iraq and Afghanistan is more for stability and safety rather than a tactical achievement or territorial or resource gain. This is what is happening in Iraq and Afghanistan where NATO is securing the area, then handing over authority. Coming from the region in Asia where terrorism thrives, I can assure you terrorism does exist. We did lose in Vietnam. The Korean War never actually ended. They signed a ceasefire that still is active today.

Anyway I suggest you do some serious research. The problem is I think if I try to tell you the truth you won't believe it and think it is some propaganda that I am being fed inside this country.

The way we look at it is that war is changing by age. Now the US is not engaging a nation like our military is designed for, but rather a violent organization. This forces us to change our view of "victory"
