@TheObie9 Yes, it is in G. I find that open G is the most versatile and useful open tuning. As a rule, when something is in open tuning, it will be in open G. A few things need to be in open D. Dust My Broom for instance (the vehicle for my Blues Is Dead), and Blind Willie Johnson used a lot of open D (my piece We Could Make Each Other Happy is based on Motherless Children). But most pieces you will run into in open tuning are open G. I'm glad you like it.

@hoopiejohn Yes, I did.The phrase Blues Don't Beg For Mercy came to me first, but then it was quite a while (several months, I think) before the tune came to me. Once I had the tune and the rhythm, I was able to write the other verses fairly quickly.
For me, that is often the way songwriting works. I have phrases that have been bouncing around in my head for years, and I still do not know how to make a full song out of them. If I live, it will all come together.
