These two are wearing hair shirts for people who live in neighborhoods these two would never walk through at night. They're doing what all the best and smartest people on this planet do; assuming everyone is like them. Why didn't we let the poor back into New Orleans? Because that would be like opening the doors on a prison yard and letting everyone out. These two women could never live in the neighborhoods those people use to inhabit in N.O. They're out of touch with the facts on the ground.
I'm entertained by the fact that people down-rate your comment without responding.
What we have today, and have had for MANY years, is a left-right mix of mercantile statism. The opposite side of the [x&y-axis] spectrum from 'capitalism'.
Dear Ms. Klein: Government guaranteeing financial institutions and deposits, bailing out firms, and running mortgage companies is not "deregulated capitalism."
I share your outrage at the transfer of wealth, and agree that crisis is used as an excuse, but this recession was NOT caused by capitalism, but the opposite.
