Acclaimed poet Marilyn Nelson reads from "A Wreath for Emmett Till," a heroic crown of sonnets, Saturday morning at the Wisconsin Book Festival. Crafted from a sequence of 15 interlinked sonnets (the last line of each sonnet providing the first line for the next, and the final sonnet comprised of the first line from each of the previous 14), "A Wreath for Emmett Till" serves as a powerful elegy for the 14-year-old whose 1955 lynching helped spark the Civil Rights movement.
