Its been a year since I've started learning shorthand and even though progress over the last few months hasn't been significant speedwise, I figure I'll post a dictation. Unlike my previous dictation though, I haven't tried this text several times beforehand, so its a fair representation of me with a new text.
Info about the dictation:
Recorded by me on a voice recorder
FROM: Gregg Speed Building for Colleges
It is very convenient to do 120wpm takes because the book has a number marking every 20 words. As there is 60 seconds in the minute, I simply read up to each number every ten seconds.
@zamuriaz Not impressive? Even if you CAN write longhand at 70 wpm, 120 wpm is a 70% increase; and shorthand speeds can easily go to 200 wpm or more, speeds that longhand can't approach.

Lol I can write normal longhand and get 70 wpm so 120 in shorthand isn't impressive

Wow, that's fantastic! I just began learning, and you make it look so much easier than it is.

In English we would call this a shorthand or a stenography system. "Tachygraphy" is also a possible word with Greek root-words, but it is less recognizable.
