Loved your video. Loved it. I am so excited to start making my own water kefir and kombucha! Thanks or the advice about the spirulina and chlorella, I will be trying that as a tasty way to incorporate them. Please make more videos. : )
hey! i just bought a container like that but i saw a lot of videos that were against using a plastic spickit because of the acidity from the kombucha. have you had any problems??
nice vid! viewers should be aware that most commercial brands in the store anymore will grow a weak culture that does not brew the same kind of kombucha as a commercially produced scoby. sadly, since the reformulation in 2010, most brands do not make a good socby anymore.
also, since you are using green tea, that's why it goes sour quickly during fermentation. a mix of black and green will get ferment a little slower.
Great info. I've been brewing for a while, but let a scoby go when I got sick and couldn't make the tea.I like the 1 gallon w 1c sugar to start a new scoby (with tea bags and Kombucha) 12 teabags? wow, you must make A LOT! I thought you had to use some black tea, but if you say you only use green, I'll try it. One thing I found: for people w/out a spiket (SP?) use a straw- immerse, cover top with finger, put out and let it go in your mouth. Easy way to test it day by day.
How do you get your SCOBY's so pretty?

@kombuchakamp How does one get a good, healthy culture? Can I get a good one at home from scratch?
